Rotunda Independent School for Excellence

Welcome to Rotunda Independent School for Excellence (RISE), where our young people feel safe and supported in all aspects of their educational experience.

RISE prides itself on being “Not just another school” How? Because we do things differently.  Just as each young person learns differently RISE delivers individual and tailored education to meet their unique personality and learning style.  We embrace difference and create a culture of mutual respect and trust.  Our aim is to create a very supportive and caring environment whereby every student has the confidence and belief in themselves to achieve and become the best version of themselves.

We are all very proud of RISE, its achievements to date and the distinct ethos and values we foster here. Visitors often comment on the sense of empowerment, caring and sense of belonging that is felt from our students and staff members and we hope that you will feel the same and that you will share our belief that RISE has something special to offer.

At RISE we offer all students the opportunity to learn both academically and socially. We know that learning is in effect a social activity and therefore we embed a culture of teamwork which is fundamental to our work in the classroom. Our approach ensures that our students respect themselves and others, encouraging co-operation and collaboration whilst engaging in our wider social and community activities.

We are sure that you will find that there is a real sense of belonging here, with students enjoying their education which we know arises from them being encouraged, respected and supported. We are delighted to be able to offer opportunities for our students, both within and outside the curriculum, and we are committed to making sure that our students achieve their full potential no matter what their abilities, aptitudes and strengths are.

Our approach at RISE is to ensure that education is a partnership between school, students, parents/carers and our community. Our goal is to create futures generations of young people who have citizenship as one of their core values and who use their skills and abilities to further their own future as well as develop the community in which they live.

If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the RISE team on 0151 207 2176.

If a young person at RISE has an Education Healthcare Plan (EHC) or English is not their first language, we have a personalised approach which can be found in the Equality Opportunities policy. Parents can also speak with the learners personal tutor at induction (or at anytime) to find out more about how we will design their educational programme to meet their individual needs.

Rotunda is an inclusive provision and welcomes learners from all backgrounds and education need. We have specific bespoke and tailored activities for children and young people who have educational health care plans.
